How to test PP Hollow Plastic Formwork Panel quality easily?

With more and more different quality and specification of PP hollow plastic concrete formwork in the market, along with common issues such as warping and wave-like deformation in summer and cracking when nailed or breaking during removal in winter. GREENSTAR New Materials company recommends two simple methods for buyers to test the quality of PP Hollow plastic concrete formwork:

1. High-Temperature Softening Test (Summer Deformation Resistance Test)

Purpose: Verify whether the formwork softens and deforms under high temperatures, leading to uneven concrete surfaces.  

Method:  

- Soak the PP Hollow Plastic Formwork sample in 70°C hot water for 5 minutes.  

- Remove and forcefully bend the formwork to check for softening.  

- Pass/Fail Criterion: If the formwork softens and bends easily, it is unsuitable for summer construction.  

2. Low-Temperature Brittleness Test (Winter Crack Resistance Test)  

Purpose: Verify whether the formwork becomes brittle in cold weather, causing cracks when nailed or breaking during demolding.  

Method:  

- Put the PP hollow plastic formwork sample in a -10°C freezer for 24 hours.  

- Remove and hammer a nail 10mm from the edge to check for cracking.  

- Pass/Fail Criterion: If the formwork cracks when nailed or breaks during removal, it is unsuitable for winter construction.  

Key Notes: 

1. These tests only evaluate the basic performance (temperature resistance and toughness) of PP hollow plastic formwork.
